The SA Medical Research Council is reported to have confirmed that the health workers would be getting their J&J booster shots soom.Prof Glenda Gray is reported to have said that the first round was a success as they managed to protect the health practitioners from hospitalization and deaths related to Covid-19.
The booster shots will be availed to the healthcare workers in the week of the 8th of November, but the actual date is yet to be communicated.The single doses have played a huge role in other members of the community such as teachers , the police and other important service providers in the country.
The booster shots are reported to being made available to other nations across the world and South Africa will soon have the shots too.The booster shots are being offered to health care workers and the elderly community in some countries. This is a good initiative by the South African government towards the battle against Covid-19.
