Black First Land First president, Andile Mngxitama who made headlines after his photos looking very sick made waves on social media, has finally revealed the ordeal of his sickness.
Numerous people sympathised with Andile Mngxitama as his health deteriorated very badly and he drastically lost weight.
The former Economic Freedom Fighters Member of Parliament, revealed that COVID-19 almost killed him. The virus saw him staying in hospital for three months with numerous prayers made for him.
While for some people surviving that health scare serve as an unforgettable lesson and many later opt to vaccinate against the virus, the same however cannot be said about Andile Mngxitama. The BLF leader said regardless of his long stay in hospital, he still refuse to take the COVID-19.
"COVID-19 almost killed me. My heart stopped for two minutes. I'm still recovering from the attack that kept me in hospital for three months. But, I'm still not convinced about the vaccine. Too many questions and too many side effects. I'm still on the #Asijovi ticket," he said.
Andile Mngxitama who wanted to contest as mayor of Johannesburg in the local government elections, couldn't campaign as he had anticipated as that was the time his health was deteriorating.
The defiant leader revealed that he is now on traditional herbs and will see how his body will react to that as he embarks on a journey to recover from his illness.
"I'm recovering well. Since yesterday I'm on Moringa. Will see in a month how its helping. Again thanks for all the prayers and even herbal interventions by sister Onicca Mokgobedi Moloi it helped me a lot. We must gravitate towards nature for good health," he said.
Andile Mngxitama is one of the politicians pushing against the vaccine mandate. His party, Black First Land First has taken a stance which says "no to vaccines".
