4 Important Things Mentioned In The National Address - Level 1- Alcohol Sales - Covid Certificates.

1. Level 1 Lockdown.

South Africa has been moved to an adjested level 1 from midnight tonight.

Venues can now hold more numbers of people.

After tears gatherings are still not allowed.

2. Alcohol sales.

Alcohol sales will be permitted, however alcohol sales will not be permitted during curfew times.

Normal alcohol sales rules will apply, this means alcohol can be sold on any day except on Sundays.

3. Curfew.

The curfew hours will change from 12 midnight to 4am.

Restaurants can now operate until 11pm in order to allow workers to get home on time before curfew.


Vaccination Certificates will be introduced for persons who have received the vaccines.

Over 8.6 million people have been fully vaccinated in South Africa. The risk of death is higher amongst people who are unvaccinated.

If the majority of South Africans get vaccinated, the country will be able to achieve herd immunity.

It is still mandatory for individuals to wear masks and sanitise regularly.
