South Africa's load shedding crisis, that along with the ever increasing fuel prices, & a shortage of nurses have been seen as the issues that are faced by the private healthcare provider Netcare.
This is a huge problem that they are going through and have to overcome, because the citizens of South Africa are seriously dependent on this matter that has to be dealt with.
This has become a concern in the wake of the recent increases in the Covid-19 cases, they are possibly connected to the 5th wave of infections, however hospital admissions remain low.
Netcare, has its highest level of cases that are not related to Covid-19 since the begining of the pandemic. They are observing a move towards a pre-pandemic case mix and it is shown through the increases in operations, shorter stays of hospital patients and surgical cases making up more than 60% of the admissions.
