What is the best month to plant Strawberries in South Africa ?

For spring planting as soon as the soil is dry and able to be worked usually March or April you should plant your strawberries. The plants need to be well established before the temperatures rise in the summer months.

June bearing strawberries be planted 18 to 24 inches apart in rows spaced 4 feet apart. Runners will develop and root freely to form a matted row about 2 feet wide. Everbearing and day-neutral strawberries are typically planted in beds consisting of 2 or 3 rows. Rows are spaced 1 foot apart.
