Lucky Lekgwathi reopens his restaurant after it was destroyed by looters during unrest

Former Orlando Pirates skipper Lucky Lekgwathi has reopened his fast foods outlet in Soweto which was destroyed by looters in July.

The Grootman by Lucky Lekgwathi township restaurant was among bussinesses that were looted and destroyed during the unrest that hit parts of KZN and Gauteng in July. Many South Africans are happy that Lekgwathi has risen from the ashes like a phoenix, after his livelihood was threatened.

The restaurant has now relocated from Kliptown to Southdale. It is said that former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande who runs a construction company helped Lekgwathi by revamping the store. Now it boasts large glass panels and has indoor and outdoor ares.

Locals and his fans congratulated Lucky for reopening the restaurant despite the setback it suffered. Twitter was flooded with congratulatory mesages after Tshepang Mailwane tweeted about the opening.
