Try this beautiful recipe : Apple roses

It is super easy to make, plus you just need a few ingredients, PURE BUTTER puff pastry, jam (blackcurrant for me), a little icing sugar and apples.

For 6 roses

·        2 apples

·        1 pure butter puff pastry

·        1/2 organic lemon

·        2 heaped tablespoons of blackcurrant jelly

·        2 tablespoons of icing sugar

Split the apples in half. Remove the part with the seeds (I am using a Parisian spoon) and remove with a peeler the part that was near the core (the small, somewhat hard skins).

Then cut the half apples into very thin slices. Put them in a salad bowl, cover with water, add the juice of half a lemon, film and cook in the microwave for 6 minutes at full power. If you think you are going to die using the microwave, cook in the pan. The idea is that the apple slices are tender enough that you can roll them on themselves. Then drain them through a colander and let them cool.

Meanwhile, roll out the puff pastry very thinly into a rectangle shape (it is much better when it is very thin). I bought a ready-made round that I stretched with my rolling pin to form a rectangle. Cut six strips, about 2 inches wide, from the puff pastry. Heat the blackcurrant jelly, to have a kind of thick syrup.

Roll out the dough and cut strips, Spread the strips with blackcurrant jelly. Place the apple slices on the jelly, so that they overlap. Fold the dough over the apples and roll. Once you have obtained the rose, place it in an imprint of a lightly oiled muffin pan (this should not stick). Do the same for the other 5 bands. Bake your muffin pan in a preheated oven at 180 ° C, rotating heat, for 40 minutes. Turn out hot and once the roses have cooled, sprinkle them with icing sugar.

You can use other jams (apricot, currant), add a little spices (cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg) to flavour according to your taste.
