Chicken Kebabs Met 'n Twist

It's a simple and delicious recipe. Chicken kebabs can be great for a braai party with friends and family, you can enjoy them with a side salad or just like that. They are juicy and full of flavor

Creamy, spiced Marog with fiery chicken kebabs 


For the spicy Margo:

- About 400g Margo or any hardy green leaf-like Swiss chard or broccoli leaf

- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

- 5 cloves of garlic (roughly chopped)

- 1/2 red onion (finely diced)

- 1 red pepper (roughly diced)

- 1 red chili (finely diced)

- 1 cup cream

- Salt 

- freshly ground black pepper to taste

For the fiery chicken kebabs:

- 600g chicken thighs (boneless)

- 3 tbsp canola oil

- 1 tbsp garlic powder

- 1tbsp garam masala

- 2 tsp chili flakes

- 1 lemon )zested and juiced)

- Salt

- freshly ground black pepper to taste


1. Completely wash the Margo before cutting it into fine strips. 

2. Heat the oil over medium heat and add the garlic, red onion, and red pepper and cook until translucent.

3. Expand the chili and marog and cook with the lid on until softened, about 5 minutes.

4. Put in the cream and stir through over low heat. 

5. Enable the dish to cook for another 7 minutes before seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

 For the chicken:

1. Add the chicken to a mixing bowl along with the oil, spices, chili, lemon zest, and juice, and seasoning.

2. Heat a griddle pan.

3. Skewer the chicken before placing it over the griddle pan. 

4. Scorch slightly for 5 minutes a side until perfectly cooked.
