Advertising Marketing

Here's the burger a man bought, and what the advertisement shows. Opinion.

It's not uncommon to see advertisments everywhere these days. These advertisements are meant to encourage you to go out and buy a product from a certain company. Especially if it's a food product that gets your mouth to crave it. Unfortunately you have to be careful with these products as what's being sold isn't always what's represented. That's what one South African man recently found when he purchased a Burger from Burger king.

The burger he bought :

Below you can find a picture of the burger he purchased. It looks huge in size with all of it's ingredients clear to see. The patties of the burger also look thick and the entire burger towers almost as tall as the glass behind it. Many people upon seeing this, would want to purchase it. However it won't be what they get.

The burger he got :

Below you will find a picture of the burger the man actually got. In comparison this is sad, with barely any ingredients visible. It looks squashed and small and the top patty looks substantially thinner than the bottom one.

This of course got a lot of South Africans talking, Here's what they had to say.

As we can see, a lot of people weren't happy with this either. So what does it mean for South Africans.

My Opinion :

Unfortunately this isn't an isolated case, a lot of time advertisements are airbrushed to make them look better. However this is such a widespread issue that I don't really believe there is anything we can do about.

In future I urge people to buy their food based on what they know is good, not an advertisement that's meant just to entice them.
