Indulge in Chocolate cake recipe

Chocolate

Ingredients 

1 & 1/4 cake flour 

1 & 1/4 white sugar 

6 Tbsp cocoa powder 

1/3 cup vegetable oil 

1/2 cup buttermilk 

2 eggs

1/3 cup hot coffee ( 1/3 cup hot water + 2 tsp coffee powder)

1 tsp vanilla essence 

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 

1 tsp baking powder 

1/4 tsp salt 


Instructions 

1. In a large bowl add sugar and oil then mix well .


2. Add one egg at a time then add vanilla essence. Add buttermilk then mix well .


3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt . Mix 


4. Add the hot coffee and mix well .


5. Pour the batter (mixture) in a prepared baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 Degrees Celsius for 35 minutes or until well baked .


*Make sure the cake has completely cooled off before frosting it .


Chocolate Ganache 

1 cup finely chopped chocolate 

1/2 cup whipping or heavy cream (hot)

*Heat the whipping or heavy cream on the stove . Then pour it over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes then mix well until you have a smooth consistency.


Leave the chocolate ganache for 30 minutes to set before you use it on the cake . Then pour it on the cake . 


You can use different types of chocolates to decorate your cake .
