Beef Chow Mein 🥡🍜 recipe.
454g egg noodles.
500g minute or tenderised steak, thinly sliced against the grain.
1 tsp cornstarch.
1 tbsp soy sauce.
1 tbsp vegetable oil.
1 tsp ginger.
1 tsp garlic, minced.
½ red pepper, sliced thin.
½ yellow pepper.
¼ cabbage head.
1 carrot sliced thin.
3 spring onions sliced.
Toasted seseme seeds.
Salt to taste.
Soak noodles in boiling water for 10 minutes until separated and soft.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch.
Add the sliced beef and toss to coat.
Set aside for a few minutes to tenderize the beef.
Chow Mein Sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce.
2 tbsp oyster sauce.
2 tbsp dark soya sauce.
1/2 tsp seseme oil.
1 tsp brown sugar.
In another bowl, mix all the Chow Mein Sauce ingredients together.
On medium-high heat.
Wait a minute until hot and add the oil followed by sliced beef.
Stir fry the beef with a wooden spoon for 5 minutes until brown.
Remove from pan.
In same pan add oil and all your stir fry vegetables and fry for about 2 minutes.
Add meat, noodles and Chowmein sauce and toss until evenly covered.
Garnish with seseme seeds and spring onions.
