Coffee Chocolate Squares

Very few people in the world still don't go crazy about chocolate, but the majority of us just love it. Chocolate is delicious but coffee and chocolate is a hundred times better.

Coffee helps to enrich the chocolate, gives it more punch. When you bake these coffee chocolate squares they will be moist, dark brown in colour, they will have a strong chocolate flavour and they will smell Devine...all thanks to the coffee.

Now let's get baking!

- 400 g sugar

- 240 g flour

- 1½ tsp bicarbonate of soda

- 2 tsp baking powder

- ½ tsp salt

- 50 g cocoa powder

- 1 Tbsp coffee granules

- ½ cup creamel

- 2 cups hot water

- 2 large eggs

- ½ cup oil

- 2 tsp vanilla essence

For topping:

- 150 g dark chocolate

- 1 can condensed milk

- chocolate shavings

To make the cake:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a 30 cm baking tray with greaseproof paper.

2. Sift the dry ingredients into a large bowl – not the coffee.

3. Stir the coffee and Creamel into the hot water until dissolved.

4. Then add the eggs, oil and vanilla essence to the hot water mixture. Whisk until well combined.

5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix to combine.

6. Pour the batter into the baking tray and bake for 30 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean. Allow to cool.

To make the topping:

1. Chop the chocolate roughly and melt.

2. Mix the chocolate and condensed milk together until smooth.

3. Smear over cake, decorate with chocolate shavings and cut into squares.
