Ghanaian man who was an artistic director of Louis Vuitton clothes for men, dies

Virgil Abloh's parents are from Ghana. Their tribe is Ewe. He was born in Illinois in 1980. At the time of his death, he was artistic director of Louis Vuitton men's wear. 

While studying architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2006, he designed T-shirts and wrote on fashion and design for a blog. Abloh first met popular Kanye West while working on his designs at a Chicago print shop and from Chicago, that is where Kanye West is from.

He got into clothing fashion inspired by his mother who was seamstress. During his work with Kanye, Abloh caught the eye of the Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke. Him and Kanye West' partner opened up a store in Chicago. He went on to design album covers for Kanye and Jay z.

In 2018, he was named Louis Vuitton's artistic menswear collection until his death in late 2021.
