Lehlogonolo Machaba is a model who made history by becoming the first transgender person to participate in Miss South Africa. Machaba's name was among the 30 ladies chosen among thousands of women who applied for the prestigious title around the country, according to the event's organizers.
She's from Oskraal, Letlhabile in the North West, and she'll be representing the province as the only participant. Machaba is the owner and founder of the DeMollies fashion label, and she possesses a fashion design technology diploma from the Tshwane University of Technology.
The 24-year-old aims to continue advocating for the LGBTQ community while also inspiring young females like herself.
