Shudufhadzo Musida, Miss South Africa 2020, has gone for Puerto Rico, where she will represent South Africa at the 70th Miss World competition. The Miss South Africa organization shared a series of images of the 25-year-old at Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport on Saturday.
"Greetings, World! "Here we come!" said the caption of a photograph of Shudu draped in the South African flag.
"Are you prepared for some Shudu magic, Puerto Rico?" read another. Shudufhadzo expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent the country on her personal Instagram account.
"The time has finally here, and to say I'm overjoyed is an understatement. I'm ecstatic at the prospect of representing the country that reared me, who gave me a voice, and who shaped me into the woman I am today on the Miss World stage. I am carrying each and every one of you in my heart as I start on this life-changing trip, and I humbly invite you to join me!
Shudufhadzo aspires to follow in the footsteps of three previous Miss South Africas: Rolene Strauss, Anneline Kriel, and Penelope Coelen, who were crowned Miss World in 2014, 1974, and 1958, respectively. Prior to the contest, she has already been dubbed a "hot pick" to win the Miss World crown.
On 16 December, the Miss World pageant will take place.
