This strategy can help you lose weight in as little as 10 minutes by just repeating a mantra for 10 minutes every day (a word, sound, phrase, or prayer).

Take a few minutes twice a day to relax by rolling your head, neck, and shoulders in a comfortable position while deeply breathing in a quiet atmosphere. When other ideas try to come in the way, Dr. Benson recommends answering, "Oh, well," and then returning to your phrase or word.

Close your eyes and allow your ordinary thoughts to return to your mind silently for another minute once you've finished. Do you still believe in meditation's health benefits? As an alternative, try yoga or something physically demanding and repetitive, such as mindful running.

Keep track of your breathing and the way your feet land with each step. Spend less time worrying about your to-do list, according to Dr. Benson.
