September 24 was previously known as King Shaka's Day,it's was known internationally as a day we commemorating the King of Zulu Nation, The King was known for unity amongst the Zulu clan, elEvery year South Africans would gather around his grave to honor him then after numerous discussions it was decided that the day would change into Heritage Day because of cultural diversity.
Purpuse of Heritage Day
Heritage Day main purpose is to nurture and embrace South African culture for what its truly is. The day is usually celebrated by dressing in Traditional outfits and cooking traditional foods.
