8 Habits That Make You Look Older Than Your Age

Every man and woman wishes to appear younger than their actual age for as long as possible; nevertheless, it is unfortunate that the majority of men are unwilling to pay the final price in order to remain fresh, young, and agile for an extended period of time in their life.


After researching some of the daily routines that men engage in, I came to the conclusion that some of these practices are responsible for the fact that most men appear to be much older than their actual age.

In order to help alleviate this situation, I will share with you a few daily practices that men engage in that cause them to appear older than their actual age.


1. You don't moisturize your skin.


The majority of males have developed the misconception that only women should be concerned about keeping their skin hydrated throughout time. This is a negative impression, as it is one of the reasons why most men appear to be much older than their actual age.


You will agree with me that males are more exposed to hard labor, which requires them to work for extended periods of time in the extreme heat of the sun, depleting their skin of its natural oil, causing it to become dry and eventually crack.


This is why it is even more important for men to keep their skin moisturized at all times in order to keep them looking youthful and to avoid seeming older than their actual age.


2. Consuming an excessive amount of processed foods

This is a tendency that is more widespread among males who are single. They don't appear to have the time to prepare meals, so they rely on fast food and other processed items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner instead.


It may be of interest to you to know that processed foods may contain toxic preservatives that are potentially harmful to your health. Additionally, they tend to contain a lot of sugar, which can cause dark circles under the eyes, wrinkles on the face, and dehydrated skin, making you appear years older than you actually are in reality.


3. Keeping Your Hair Clean on a Regular Basis

Despite what many people believe, hair cleanliness is important. However, when done in excess, it can strip the hair of its natural oil and leave it dry, brittle, and dull.


When your hair is dull, brittle, and dry, there is a significant likelihood that you will appear older than your actual age; nevertheless, you can keep your hair healthy by shampooing it twice a week and washing it with warm water.


4. You are not wearing your sunglasses.

Sunglasses are not only for show; they also serve an important function in protecting the skin around the eyes, which is extremely fragile and susceptible to harm from the sun's UV rays.


When you don't use sunglasses, the skin around your eyes becomes burned and darker than it should be, making you appear older than you really are.


5. Failure to wash your face on a regular basis


As a guy, it is anticipated that you return home and thoroughly wash your face in order to avoid certain bacterial diseases that may have developed as a result of sweating and contact with contaminated things or bodies during the day.


Make sure to completely cleanse your face before heading out to work, while at work, and immediately after.


6. Unhealthy Posture


This may appear to be a silly mistake, but it is a common one that causes men to appear years older than they actually are.

8. Stop Relying on a Single Piece of Clothing


Try as much as you can to explore the world of fashion and keep up with the latest trends to avoid becoming stuck in one outfit that makes you appear old-fashioned and older than your actual age.
