With all the noise about light skinned girls looking more beautiful and sexier than their melanin popping counterparts some other celebrities have decided to damn the consequences and remain naturally black and beautiful.The rate at which females across the African continent are changing their skin tone is increasing by the day. With some even selling bleaching creams. Here are some celebrities who managed to maintain their dark melanin popping skins.

Rami Chuene

The actress has been in the industry for over a decade but she still hasn't changed her skin color. Many celebrities she started with has changed their looks but she still remained the same. This shows how proud she is to be an African woman.


The singer is one of the most bullied celebrities in South Africa because of how she looks. Makhadzi has learnt to embrace her God given looks and slay in her music career despite the high criticism she face. A few weeks ago pictures showing her dark inner thighs were leaked online, it is clear the person who did this wanted to bring her down but did not succeed because a lot of people showed her a lot of love and support.

Lupita Nyong'o

The actress is a well known actress all over the world. She has faced colorism and labeled as the dark skinned girl. When she got popular a lot of people believed Lupita was probably going to change her skin color but she has proved them wrong as she remained the same nine years after her movie 12 years a slave made its debut.

Thuso Mbedu

The actress made a name for herself internationally because of her talent. Thuso is one of those celebrities who embrace their natural looks, even when she went to Hollywood she did not have the pressure to change how she looks.

Zenande Mfenyana

Zenande got in the industry as a natural lady and a decade later she is still the same. She hasn't bleached her skin and has never been seen wearing a weave.
