An Instagram page has been started for the sole purpose of exposing South African celebrities and influencers for wearing fake Gucci outfits,The page has been trending as it has reached over 18 thousand followers on Instagram the Fake Gucci Community page was named on the 16th of August 2021 and the celebrities mentioned and posted on the page have reacted on the allegations of wearing fake Gucci.
SouthAfrican influencers and celebrities such as Big Zulu, Oscar Mbo,Somizi and Mampintsha just to name a few that have been accused of wearing fake Gucci.Somizi went as far as recording a video at the Gucci store to clear his name and have his photo deleted on the page.House Dj and producer Oscar Mbo known as a groovist and a fashionist argued with the allegations and was told to go to the Gucci store like Somizi.
The page has gained traction and yet many wander if the allegations are true or not.It is against the law to deal counterfeit goods and one can be fined up to 5000 thousand rands if found dealing or exporting fake goods.The account holder of the Fake Gucci Community Instagram page posted a statement "Guys am not here to fight or shame people believe it or not i will not make mistakes its either i post or not, I'm here to educate because 50% of the people waering this product don't actually know, They have the money and somtimes the style but don't have the time to go and shop for themselves and people take advantage of it. Please ask me relevant questions,dont fight with me cause i'll never be wrong lets learn together.This is what this is about."
