I started taking interest in the miss SA beauty pageant after Zozibini Tunzi won and then followed by Shudu Musida . Those are the only two models that really made an impact. The ones before them is like they never existed.
Zozi wanted women to appreciate themselves the way they are yet we still see them bleaching their skin and wearing weaves and so on . Shudu has been campaigning for mental health awareness and has also written children's book.
I think that the pageant give hope to young and old black females, that we are beautiful, capable and that we can achieve anything that we set our mind on.
What other changes do models/pageant winners make in the people's lives or which model can you remember who made an impact? I think that they are special ladies that give people hope.
