For a very long time, the people who won Miss South Africa never looked like the majority of South Africans in an African country. And many felt like it was discriminatory towards black women, especially because women with natural afro hair were also turned down once upon a time.
And this is probably why Zozibini became such a joy and an icon when she won both Miss South Africa and Miss Universe. Zozi broke the stereotypes of what a typical Miss South Africa should look like. Instead of wearing a weave, she entered with her natural short 4c hair and dark skin. And it was not her first time entering the pageant because she entered it before and never made it through the other rounds and when she finally entered again, she made a name for herself in the world.
Zozibini entered Miss South Africa knowing what it was she stood for. Her main aim was to be a representation for girls who looked like her, who thought they were not beautiful or worthy enough for a pageant like Miss South Africa. During her crowning, she received a lot of backlash from people telling her she did not have the look and she would never win Miss Universe. She proved everyone wrong.
Zozibini is a stunning woman, an absolutely beautiful woman and she made her mark. which she will be remembered for for years to come. She is also a talented singer and constantly shows on her social media that she is a fashion lover as well, and everything she wears she looks good in.
Let us take a look at most of her most iconic looks as Miss South Africa and Miss Universe.
