I was named the new Miss South Africa (SA) 2022. Ndavi Nokeri, who was a fan favorite, won the crown.
At the SunBet Arena at Time Squares Menlyn in Tshwane, where the Miss SA contest was held.
Anele Mdoda, a well-known person in the media, ran the pageant for the second time.
There was a lot of electricity in the packed room.
The night was lit up by Nokeri's charm, light, and stage presence.
From the beginning, the top 10 were Anarzade Omar, Ayanda Thabethe, Itumeleng Parage, Keaoleboga Nkashe, Lebogang Mahlangu, Luvé Meyer, Luyanda Zuma, Ndavi Nokeri, Pearl Ntshehi, and Tamsyn Jack. Each room was shown on video.
The judges were Zozibini Tunzi, a former Miss Universe; Rolene Strauss, a former Miss World; Devi Sankaree Govender, an investigative journalist and media personality; Thuli Madonsela, a former Public Protector; Suzette van der Merwe, a businesswoman and Miss South Africa from 1990; and Harnaaz Sandhu, the current Miss Universe from India.
Luve Meyer, Ayanda Thabethe, Lebogang Mahlangu, Tamsyn Jack, and Ndavi Nokeri, who was chosen by the public, were the top five. Nokeri, Mahlangu, and Thabethe, who were all fan favorites, were in the top three.
Judges asked questions about mental health, how they would hold leaders accountable, period poverty, and social and economic issues.
The top three then answered a Twitter question. "As a South African, what do you think is the most important thing to keep the country together?" Both Noerki and Thabethe said that we, as a country, should celebrate our differences and help each other as we move forward, because our rainbow nation is one of our country's strengths.
Prizes and sponsorships for Miss South Africa 2022 will be worth more than R3 million. Nokeri, who won Miss SA, will also get R1 million in cash from the organization that runs Miss South Africa.
Nadia Nakai, Rouge, Boity, Elaine, Ndoni, Llysio, and Makhadzi all performed music, and Makhadzi's was the best.
