Combined 105-year sentence handed down to three rhino poachers

CAPE TOWN - Three rhino poachers were condemned to a joined 105 years in jail on Friday. 

Shangani Mathebula, Emmanuel Mdhluli from Mozambique and Walter Hendrik Mangane from South Africa were captured in 2017 for killing three rhinos in Marula, in the south part of the Kruger National Park. 

Park representative Ike Phaahla invited the robust sentence and said it should fill in as an obstacle to hoodlums. 

In excess of 249 rhinos were poached for their horns across South Africa among January and June this year with 40 claimed poachers captured inside the Kruger National Park alone. 

Overseeing chief of the KNP Gareth Coleman said: "These sentences should fill in as an obstacle to those meaning to come and kill our normal legacy and annihilating the livelihoods of our kin. We have in the beyond couple of months strengthened our security endeavors in the Park to great impact however fruitful feelings require that the prosecutorial and equity columns in our general public are working adequately."
