Overcoming Fear in This Season – Part 2

In our earlier article, we looked at some Bible verses to help us in overcoming fear during this season. It will be wrong to downplay what is going on around the world in terms of the pandemic. The rumors that the world is coming to an end, that the vaccine will be mandatory by every government in every country, that it will actually modify the human DNA and remove the human ability to relate with God; Also, that this is it – the world has come to an end and I had a colleague say rapture has already happened and we have been left behind, the pandemic is the beginning of the great tribulation.

For us to discard any form of fear in our hearts, it is very important to go back to studying God’s Word and intensify our prayers. Speaking to my Christian family, for as long as we are still alive, it’s an opportunity for us to introspect and make the necessary changes required in our lives. The truth is God is not dead, He is still watching over us. There are more Bible verses to share to help us keep trusting God and build our faith in Him.

1.   1 John 4:18, There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

2.   Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

3.   2 Samuel 22:31, As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

4.   Psalm 9:10, And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

5.   Psalm 18:2, The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

6.   Psalm 18:30, As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

7.   Psalm 20:7, Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8.   Psalm 21:7, For the king trusts in the Lord, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.

9.   Psalm 22:8, “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

10. Psalm 34:22, The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

11. Psalm 37:3, Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

12. Psalm 37:5, Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Trusting God allows the darkness of fear to be replaced by the light of His love. [Opinion]
