In the last 24 hours or so, the Limpopo based artist Makhadzi found herself trending on social media platforms, after she seemingly posted two pictures of herself wearing ANC regalia. Makhadzi's ANC regalia prompted many South African people to engage in heated debate.
To some considerable extent, Makhadzi's fans were somewhat divided by the pictures. And Makhadzi found herself having to explain to her fans why she wore ANC regalia. On her official Twitter account, Makhadzi simply stated that "No one will ever refuse an invitation from the president of the Country himseld. Y’all will dress to impress hau"
In full, Julius Malema told Makhadzi that "You don't need to explain yourself to anyone my sister, your freedom of association is protected by our Constitution. It's your choice and we should respect it."
