Skhumba & Thomas returned to radio after they were moved from Kaya FM breakfast

Former Kaya 959 morning presenters Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe do not leave the station as previously reported. The two were relocated to a new slot.

Kaya 959 has moved its list and in a statement, it has been revealed that the two will be hosting the evening program: Last Call from Monday to Thursday, from 10pm to midnight, and Friday from 9pm to midnight. .

The new addition to the station is a faith-based musician and television and radio presenter Khaya Mthethwa who will be hosting a Saturday program called Noted between 9am and 12 noon. He is not new to radio as he once co-hosted Sacred Space with Thami Ngobeni on Sunday on Metro FM.

Dineo Ranaka started his program on Friday (today) with a joint drive, a morning program called 959 Breakfast with Sol Turn and Dineo Ranaka from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

"Radio as a radio station continues to be a strong platform for connecting people, and radio stations around the world must constantly monitor and adapt to changing needs and lifestyles," said MD Sibongile Mtyali.

Mo and Phindi are among the new faces joining the Kaya 959 family, who took over the reins on Sunday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. via their program The Family. Veteran Kaya 959 presenter, George Manyosi, is heading to Sunday's episode of a jazz night program called Jazz it Up between 9pm and midnight.

Kgomotso Meso, who has worked with Kaya 959 for 11 years, will delight the audience every weekday morning with an early Breakfast from 5am to 6am, which is considered a seamless game for 959 Breakfast. Meso takes over from Sotho Lenkoe, who comes out of the station with Collin Kgari.

“This redevelopment of the system is proof that 25 years after its inception, Kaya 959 is still alive to meet the needs of the market in order to continue to provide quality services. The addition of well-known names such as Dineo Ranaka, Sol Phenduka, Khaya Mthethwa, Mo and Phindi, as well as the revitalization of our incredible talent is one of the strongest steps Kaya 959 is taking to develop this radio station to the highest level, ”said Mtyali.

Some broadcasters have not changed as Thabo “Tbose” Mokwele continues his midweek program on Sunday and Sunday afternoon. Listeners will continue to enjoy the accompaniment of other major broadcasters such as Andy Maqondwana, Sizwe Dhlomo, Gugulethu Mfuphi, Phemelo Motene, Bonolo “Beesting” Molosiwa, Sammy T Mundawarara, Nicky B, DJ Keyez, MaBlerh, Xola Dlwati and Tyroline Franks.
