Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge, popularly known by his stage name as A-Reece, is a South African rapper and songwriter, born and raised in Pretoria, Gauteng. He was previously signed to controversial record label Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2015. After disputes with management, he left the label to become an independent artist.
Which he has arguably gotten more successful after the move. His music has changed for the better, while his fan base has multiplied over the years not just in South Africa, but across Africa and the world as a whole. The rapper recently got a nod from the MTV Best Fan Base Award, at the 2021, instalment of the Awards.
This comes as a welcoming surprise, because for the first in a long time, we are seeing A-REECE, actually being nominated at an award show. As he is usually overlooked time and time again, but this time he bagged a nomination from MTV Base Africa Music Awards.
While this comes as good news for most of the A-REECE's fans (Slimes), others are concerned given the tough competition he is up against. As he is nominated against the likes of fellow South African rapper Cassper Nyovest, aong with other African musical heavy weights
The Likes of Wizkid, Daimond Platnumz, Shatta Wale, Nadia Mukami, and Eddy Kenzo.
