"S'22kile supporters are like ANC supporters" complains an IdolsSA fan about Kevins departure

This evening on Idols SA, Kevin was sent home after losing the spot in the final three to the women he was competing with. It seems like Twitter fans are fuming over this as the memes and complaints about S'22kile's win started to stream in. But is this a fair judgement? Historically, KZN contestant's have the entire province behind them and that is NOT a bad thing. It is how the show has been for many years. It is her fault that people don't perceive her to be a strong singer?

Twitter users were mostly in agreement with this tweet but other pointed out the obvious. You have to vote for your favourite and if you don't, you only have yourself to blame. There is no need to bring her ancestors into this and make this anything remotely tribal. This often happens in South Africa over the smallest things. But it doesnt have to become like that with Idols SA of all things.

Personally, as someone from KZN, I haven't been behind S'22kile as she wasn't my favourite. But that does not mean she isn't talented. I think as she is only twenty years old she is still going to grown into her talent and her voice. There is no need to judge her nor dwell in how she got into the top 3.

Twitter fans always seem unable to balance out their emotions and have a lack of inhibitions where anything is concerned. At the end of the day being kind costs nothing. You can be upset that Kevin has gone home without implying anything horrible.

S'22kile has a rough time tonight in any case, with Unathi and Judith being particularly harder on her about her performances. If you are her supporter, she might need that nudge after tonights performances
