South African media personality Ngizwe Mchunu saddened by the Television show known as Mnakwethu. Mchunu believes that the show is not displaying good images of the Zulu tribe and it is giving people the wrong influence of polygamy.
Ngizwe who is also a polygamist says that he will not stop talking until something is being done about the show.
Mnakwethu is a Mzansi Magic reality show that aims to give married men the guts to fight against their of proposing polygamy to their current wives. The show is currently on its second season.
Over the previous couple of weeks, the show has featured women who are not happy about the decisions which are made by their polygamous husbands which is something that angers many South Africans.
Sunday World, has reported about the voice which was made Mchunu. He was heard talking about the reasons why he dislikes the show and the voice note was even circulated on internet. He revealed that they can not keep quiet while their tribe is being destroyed like this. Ngizwe says he is hurt by the show because their way of life is being undermined. He also said that it pains his heart to see the misinterpretation of the Zulu culture which they have built and nurtured.
Macingwane went on to blast the show's host Musa Mseleku whom he believes that he always “undermines the Zulu nation.”
He promised people that he will never stop fighting against the show until Mzansi Magic decides to take it down. If his voice I not being heard, Ngizwe revealed that he will then report the matter to the king of the Zulu tribe, King Misuzulu Kazwelithini.
I think there is nothing wrong with the idea of a show, but if it displays things which are against people's culture, then something needs to be done to correct. Ngizwe is not against the show as a whole, but he is against what is being spread by it.
