Amanda du-Pont is a Swazi-born South African actress, model and television host. Du-Pont is known for her portrayal of Senna in the CW drama series Life is Wild and Sharon in the SABC 3 comedy-drama Taryn & Sharon. Currently, she stars as Ashley in the Netflix thriller series Shadow.
She recently shared a very disturbing video on her Twitter account and asked people to circulate the video so that the people in eSwatini can get help, Soldiers are seen looking at peoples places and beating them up regardless of their gender and there are some that are even being shot in the legs during those brutalities.
This issue is very concerning considering the fact that The lives of many people like in danger and nothing seems to be happening at the moment, Just recently it was reported that the king escaped due to the violent protests that were happening.
The South African government said on Thursday it had noted with great concern the ongoing political and security crisis in neighbouring eSwatini, saying that citizens’ rights to peaceful protest should not be violated. On Wednesday, the Swaziland Youth Congress (Swayoco) reported that at least 21 individuals had been reportedly killed by eSwatini’s security forces during pro-democracy protests.
Lockdown restrictions were even imposed on the people lent the curfew hours were changed so that they will stop them from being able to protest, and now it's even worse that in some of these videos we are seeing that most of these people are being followed to their homes and abused by the officers. It is very sad to see the neighbouring country going through such a thing and there is why our government also wants to intervene in this matter so that it will come to an end, some people are going through a lot and imagine having to lose a loved one due to a protest in the hands of officers.
