Music is organized sound, as defined by most authorities. What does it sound like? Vibrating molecules create sound.
The speed of molecular vibration is proportional to how high or low a sound will be. The speed of sound varies from one substance to another. According to Wikipedia, it travels in dry air at 68 degrees Fahrenheit at roughly 768 miles per hour.
The speed of sound changes in fluids and gases. Since 1936, the American Standards Association recommended that the note A above the middle C be tuned to 440 Hz. The Austrian government recommended 435 Hz before there was an American standardization.
Many countries and organizations followed the recommendation of the Austrian governments in 1885. The A note that sounds at 440 Hertz is the way musicians tune all the instruments in orchestras, bands and whatever today. When something vibrates at a rate of 440 Hz, it will produce a standard A note.
Hz represents the German physicist named Henry Rudolph Hertz, who measured the length and speed of electromagnetic waves. He was the first to broadcast and receive radio waves transmitted via a mechanical device.
Note that the original peoples of the earth used the human brain as a radio station and transmitted signals to each other. We call it telepathy. It is interesting that humans have the ability to transmit thoughts through mental frequencies even today. Telepathy is a unique subject.
We always talk about music and vibration is a key factor in sound. Frequency is the number of waves per unit of time. When something vibrates, it creates air waves (even underwater). The distance a frequency travels depends on many factors. Amplitude is described as the magnitude of a wave.
You really don't need to know any of this, for music creation. All you need is to have an idea in your mind or record. Then run it, with whatever skills and devices you can acquire. Knowledge of frequency, amplitude, and hertz can help you execute the desired sound, but the average musician does not consider such knowledge.
That is why they are average. He can become an above-average musician by delving into the science of vibration and the use of the human mind.
We need to focus on the idea of vibration. The vibrations will be created from your music because that is the nature of sound. It is my conviction that music begins with an emotion and transcends into vibration. Situations create circumstances which lead to emotions and it all starts in a human mind.
No matter how far you have come with musical nomenclature and instruments, the soul of a composition should be remembered. Music has to be appreciated by someone or another, for it to justify the definition of music.
Does the wind sound musical if no one is listening? We can assume that music is a vibration and begins in a human brain which conveys the idea through a body part or mental frequency.
