The Idols finale was a week earlier as one contestant withdrew from the competition before the top ten live shows commenced. Ithana withdrew from the show just a day before they went live. However nothing stopped the show it continued as usual. Although the IdolsSA might have lost viewership but it's undoubtable that this was one of the most historical Idols season.
After 9 weeks in the live show, Berry was announced the winner of the seventeenth season of the show. The runner up was Karabo Mathe. Most of the time the focus is on the winner of the show, but on this season Berry and Karabo's friendship was admirable that it feels like they both won.
Although Berry takes the winner's prizes but then Karabo also gets the second runner up prizes. Karabo got a cash prize from Vodacom, Old mutual and she got a scholarship from Regeneys Business College amongst other prizes she gets to take home. Karabo is also a mommy so atleast she goes home with money in the bank and a single rolling in money for her. So she gets to spoil her child after months of not being home. Congratulations Karabo!
