On this Golden Day the Legendary Brenda Nokuzola Fassie Was Born.
Brenda fassie also known as The Madonna Of Africa or MaBrr was born. Brenda was born in Cape Town Langa in 1964 the 3rd of November. Brenda Fassie was known as an afro-pop singer songwriter dancer and activist. She sang in different languages such as English,SeSotho,IsiZulu and IsiXhosa.

Brenda Fassie left Cape Town at a very tender age to pursue her dream in singing. Brenda Fassie joined a group called joy and later became a leader of a new group. At the age of 19 she released a song called weekend special this was her first hit and after that she couldn't be stopped. Brenda Fassie released one of the greatest hits such as such as Too Late For Mama,Black President, Wedding Say and much more.

In 1989 Brenda Fassie got married to Nhlanhla Mambo (an excovict). In 1990 Brenda Fassie and her then husband Nhlanhla Mambo were convicted of fraud. Not long after that Brenda Fassie divorced her husband due to the fact that he was abusive to her. This took a toll on Brenda Fassie this led her into drug abuse she then suffered a great loss over her ex lover and friend in Hillbrow Hotel Johannesburg through drug overdose her name was Poppie Sihlahla. Brenda Fassie then admitted that she had a problem with cocaine and she also admitted at that time that she was lesbian. The cocaine problem was uncontainable as sometimes she would forget the lyrics to her own she told the journalist. Brenda went in and out of rehab approximately 20 times or more. Despite her fight with drugs she continued being the superstar we all knew.

Brenda Fassie has A Son called Bonganie Fassie who was born in 1985 4 years before Brenda got married. It's said to be that Bongani was Brenda's miracle child she hid her pregnancy due to the fact that it was unbelievable that she could even get pregnant "miracles of god" she said. In March 2006 A Sculpture by the name of Angus Taylor Sculptured Breanda Fassie and that Sculpture was installed in Bassline Newtown Johannesburg.
Brenda Fassie was said she died of a drug Overdose which was unclear at the time as she suffered asthma for a very Long time. Machine's had to be switched of as her condition was not getting better.
Alot of people paid respects to The Madonna of Africa Such The late Nelson Madndela and Ex President of South Africa Thabo Mbeki.
