WATCH | Touching moments in Luzuko Nteleko's memorial service

Late actor Luzuko Nteleko's friends and family gathered on Saturday in Sebokeng, Zone 14 Sports Center, to celebrate the actor's life. And they said their farewell to their beloved one some emotional moments.

After a two-year fight with brain cancer, Luzuko died on June 21.

The actor's sister, Nomsa Nteleko, read a letter from the mother of Luzuko who was not present.

Kakuhle hamba o ndishiye ndijonge kakhulu kuwe. (Go well with my baby even if you left me while I was still awaiting you); Akho muntu azo phinda athi ndizokosebenzela mother. (Nobody else will say to me, 'Mom, I'm going to work for you'); Remain in peace... You have sufficiently suffered. I'm always going to remember your smile. Read the message from Luzuko's mom as read by Nomsa from your mother.

Nomsa remarked that Luzuko was the universe of her mother, although they were eight in the household, they all felt the affection of her parents and assured that they loved one another as siblings.

Nomsa then went to Instagram to share some of the most emotionally charged events of the day. Luzuko's nieces and nephews, who looked straining to comprehend that their cool uncle had stopped speaking, made one of the most sincere remarks.

I am missing you the most these days, when you would say something that could make everyone grin on their faces, and we all would forget what bothered us. You miss everybody."

"You're going to be sorely missed, baba om'ncane. Not only your family, but others whose hearts you touched and inspired. You were a good man, extremely humble, who was excellent. My role model is a true role model. You have never been an uncle of mine but a dad, and I'm going to strive to make you proud," read a tribute.

In a phrase mirroring what was spoken at the sad service, Nomsa spoke with her family's young children, who had suffered the death of her uncle.

"Let's let uncle rest easily as it was the King. May you remember ubukhosi benu too, never recall that you are a king. Like your Makazi and Dabs, I love you bits, and we will see sunshine again. I love you. In the past year I know you lost too lot but ke bubom God doesn't make mistakes," she remarked.

Physical attendance at the memorial service was limited so that the family could guarantee compliance with Covid-19 restrictions. The service was carried live on YouTube and afterwards shown on Mpumalanga Broadcasting Television on Channel 504.

Luzuko's family home in the Eastern Cape will rest on July 2.
