Recall that in 2016, South Africa legalized same gender marriage, and in 2018, A bill was also introduced to criminalize hate crimes and hate speech.
And in 2020 South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa passed into law the Civil Union Amendment Act, which prohibits marriage officers from refusing to conduct same gender marriages.

My thoughts on gay marriage is that everyone has the right to love and be loved, and that's the position I take.
We've come a long way in the past few decades, but we certainly have a long way to go when it comes to gay and lesbian rights in Mzansi.
Everyone deserves to live the life they want to live, and even more importantly, love the person they want to love.
Love is love, whether a man loves a woman, a woman loves a woman, or a man.
LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual) hero is anyone that is brave enough to be who they are, and embrace it, and be proud of it – because it’s people like that that are able to encourage other people to do the same.
