Jerry Phele is one of the actors who blessed our childhood with his role on Television.
Emzini Wezinsizwa remains the biggest sitcom in South Africa because of the quality of actors who were naturally portraying their characters.
Jele Phele played the character of Mofokeng on a Show. His character was about a street gambler who was trying to make ends meet everyday but the luck of finding a job was not on his side. He used to stay in room 8 at a hostel with Mkhize, Magubane, Chawe and Chirwali.
Phele appeared as Morena on Skwizas, Innocent on Abo Mzala. he is the man you can trust with the punchlines and his performance is always memorable. He also bagged a big role on a big local movie called Zulu Wedding.
Today people on social media were appreciating Jerry Phele for all the 40 years that he has been available on their screens and how memorable his characters are especially the ones he portrayed eMzini Wezinsizwa and The Throne.
From what I have seen, Jerry is now counted as one of the legends in South African acting industry and the good thing is that that is is the fans who are honouring him with a legendary status. He said acting was just an experiment.
Jerry recently disclosed to Drum magazine that being on entertainment industry for this long was not a part of his plans but he does not regret it either.
