Carlos Norris was named after Carlos Berry, a minister who was very close to Norris's father. He didn't acquire the nickname "Chuck" until He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Policeman at the age of 18, when he was nicknamed “Ground Chuck". Norris won many martial arts championships and later founded his own discipline, Chun Kuk Do. Norris is a Black belt in Tang Soo Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo.
