What you don't know about Doctor Khumalo, his maternal roots and RDP

Kaizer Chiefs legend and South African football icon Doctor Khumalo was unearthed by Amakhosi in 1986 before making his debut at Kaizer Chiefs as a 20-year-old in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates in 1987.

He was born in June 26, 1967, Soweto, his father was Pro Khumalo. His mother was Called Mabel and his grandmother was called Maria Moagi and she was living in Kgabalatsane village outside Pretoria. And when the grandmother died, The RDP house that used to belong to his late grandmother, her house was inherited by her daughter, Marble Khumalo, but it destroyed by floods on 2016. He once visited the maternal family house and found there was no drainage system. He said he had reported the matter to the municipality.

Doctor's father Eliakim "Pro" Khumalo joined Kaizer Chiefs from Moroka Swallows in 1971. His father was tragically killed in a hijacking in 1996, shattering the family. He is one of the few players who played for a single PSL club for his entire club, he only played for Chiefs in South Africa.

He only got 4 children , Diego Khumalo, Troy Khumalo, Carl Khumalo and the late Theonada Livin Khumalo who died in 2017 after crushing her car and she was his first born. He is married to Namibian beauty queen Blanche Garises. There were divorcing in 2015 and Doctor was linked as well to a young lady called Tshwanelo Ntshudisane at a funeral of his relatives in Kgabalatsane village, north of Pretoria, the village where his grandmother Maria Moagi.
