This is a battle of 2 well renowned businessmen who are also Billionaires. In this article I'm going to compare their businesses, houses, cars and also their net worths.
These two well renowned billionaires have something in common because they both invest in sports. Jay Z owns a sports company called Roc Nation which offers sponsorship to many athletes and football clubs like Mamkhize's royal AM.
On the other hand Patrice motsepe is the former chairperson of Mamelodi Sundowns and the current president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Motsepe still has some shares at Mamelodi Sundowns as he left his first born son( Thlopie motsepe) in charge of the Brazilians.
Shawn Corey Carter, well known by his stage name “Jay Z” is an American rapper, songwriter, record executive, businessman, and media proprietor who was born on the 4th of December 1969( 52years old). On the other hand, Patrice Motsepe is a South African mining businessman who was born on the 28th of January 1962( 59 years old). These 2 are from the same age group which makes them the right candidates for our comparison.
Jay Z started his career as a rapper in 1994 and he was regarded as one of best rappers back in the days but when time went on he built his own record label called “Dej Fam recordings. The moment he started getting rich he invested in a lot of platforms and he also invested in clothing brands. See the business owned by Jay Z in the picture below:
Motsepe also hit the ground running in 1994 when he bought a number of lower-ranking mines which turned out to be profitable when the gold stock market started rising.
Dr Motsepe is also the founder and Chairman of Ubuntu-Botho Investments, African Rainbow Capital (ARC), African Rainbow Energy and Power (AREP) and UBI General Partner (Pty) Ltd. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Sanlam, Chairman of Harmony Gold and President of CAF. See another business owned by motsepe in the picture below:
Houses and cars
Despite having billions of dollars, Motsepe doesn't win the race when it comes to cars and houses.
Jay Z has a number of houses across the world and he also has a fleet of cars. Last year Jay Z bought a house for over $400,000-per-month in Malibu. The full amount of the house Is a $90 million initial cost. Jay Z also owns a wide range of cars, from Bugatti's to Rolyce and Ferrari. See his other cars and houses below:
On the other hand Motsepe lives a private life, he doesn't brag about his property on social media. But the South African bitcoin investor also has a wide range of cars and houses though. See pictures below :
According to Forbes Jay Z has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, on the other hand Motsepe has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion, meaning is $1 billion ahead of Jay Z.
Many people never expect motsepe to be ahead of the likes of kanye west and Jay Z because he is a South African and many of his business are from South Africa.
