Durban- Media Personality and Businesswoman, Shauwn Mkhize keeps on receiving good news, one after the other.
Although this reality TV star has been hit hard with some disappointments and setback this year but she has kept the momentum going. MaMkhize, as she is affectionately known, has revealed that indeed she is made of fine cloth and she is out for business and on a mission to win, nothing else, no lose.
Those who have doubted her, are now changing their minds as she is proven them wrong.
During the match, we observed that the Team of Choice had an early chance in the third minute to go ahead after Bongokuhle Hlongwane beat his marker on the byline and played a cut-back but Brandon Theron guided his first-time strike wide.
On the second stanza, we noticed it was lively, with Thwihli Thwahla taking the game to Maritzburg and the hosts made a change in the 67th minute, as Mfundo Thikazi came on for Tebogo Potsane.
United were pressurising Royal after that and Kewuti found the equaliser for Maritzburg in the last five minutes with a cross-cum-shot from the left wing that looped over Engelhardt and sailed into the back of the net.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Tshepo Rikhotso sealed the deal for Thwihli Thwahla with a tap-in from close range in stopage time after Engelhardt tipped Thikazi's free-kick into the post.
Last week, MaMkhize received a R15,75 Million lucrative deal from Ethekwini municipality for her team, Royal AM.
It will be remembered that we reported here in Mzansi Celebrity News © that the eThekwini Municipality is set to enter into a multimillion-rand partnership deal with Royal AM Football Club.
The financial implication of the deal is R15.75 million, to be paid over a three-year period, with R5.25m per year being paid to the club.
Although she recieved lot of criticism from DA as they were opposing her receiving such money from the municipality considering her status of a businesswoman.
Ethekwini municipality Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda got in her defence and stressed that the move to sponsor Royal AM was based on the long-standing principle of sponsoring the city’s sports teams.
“When you look at how we have handled the sponsoring of teams, you will note that we give R4m (per year) to the Sharks rugby team, and R3.5m (per year) to AmaZulu and Lamontville Golden Arrows,” said the mayor.
"To say MaMkhize has a lot of money, you need to take a look at the owners of the Sharks,” Kaunda concluded.
Indeed, after the storm there is sun and it is here for MaMkhize now. Congratulations to her.
