Izulu Lami (My secret sky) is a Zulu drama which was produced and directed by Durban-based filmmaker Madoda Ncayiyana in 2008. This movie is about two orphan siblings whose mother died and left them with their evil aunt who was abusive towards them.
When the mother died, she left her beautiful handmade mat which she made for a reason of entering the art competition at the city (Durban). The evil aunt tried to steal it but fortunately Thembi, which is the first born of the deceased took it and hid it in the safe place. Thembi and her brother Khwezi left their rural home for the city, and joined a gang of street kids to fulfill their mother's dream (art competition).
Do you remember how little this Thembi girl was? Thembi role was portrayed by Sobahle Mkhabase; a youngster from the KwaZulu Natal province. This talented girl became an international star after winning an award at a film festival in Spain. The film won the coveted Audience and Best Actress awards at the Tarifa International Pan African Film Festival.
This Izulu Lami stunning star; Sobahle Mkhabase is now 23 years of age and she has grown up into a beautiful young woman. Well, it hasn't yet been revealed what she's busy with in her life. I so wish she could be taken back to the acting industry and join one of the popular TV drama series.
