Luyanda Potwana is the only Nyan-Nyan presenter that viewers are familiar with. He is the face of the show, and viewers have gotten so used to him. He has been with the show for a number of years now.
He has now revealed that he will be leaving Johannesburg, and also the show. The reason for this besides his ancestral calling is his studies. Potwana has revealed that he has been accepted by the University of London to study Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He revealed that he has never been to a university, and that this will be his first time at a University. He matriculated 20 years ago, and therefore this will require his entire focus.
Potwana is also a Sangoma. A lot of celebrities in South Africa have spoken out about their ancestral links. Some of them are working on their skills, while others are not. Some are open about it, while others are secretive.
People begin to wonder why so many celebrities are coming out at the same time as they announce their callings as other celebrities come out. It could be because people didn't post much on social media before, or because many individuals preferred to do it secretly.
Luyanda Potwana, the host of Nyan'Nyan, took to Instagram to explain why he chose to keep his journey private. He claimed that he did not keep the journey/process quiet because he was embarrassed, but that he did maintain it that way.
