Mpura and Killa Kau : Lady Du's unexpected message to them that got South Africans in awe.

Duduzile "Dj Lady Du" Ngwenya is a Vosloo (South African Township) born singer, disco jockey (DJ), songwriter and performer. The thirty (30) years old was one of the most affected amapiano artist by the sudden passing of Mongezi "Mpura Mpura" Thomas Stuurman and Sakhile "Killa Kau" Hlatshwayo. The accident and death incident hitted the lady so hard that she couldn't even hold her self in the public eye. Since then, Lady du seemingly is dedicating her musical life and career to honoring her colleagues and close friends, especially Mpura Mpura, as they were close and had a collaboration on one of the biggest amapiano hit singles "umsebenzi wethu" that was released in 2020. Stuurman admired Lady du's daughter as much as her mother.

Apart from the numerous tributes Lady Du has directed to the two gentleman previously in their memorial services, funeral services, through her social media platforms and live performances of songs she featured them in. Lady Du wrote yet another form of emotional tribute song for Mongezi and Sakhile that got her fans in awe of the lyrics and overall love, genuine emotions and memory attached to it.

The song is basically a remix of Lady du's hit single "umsebenzi wethu" with a slight change of lyrical content that is expressive of the pain and sorrow due to the unforseen passing of Mpura Mpura and Killa Kau. She captioned the audio "ay I cried like a baby".

The lyrics are in vernacular language (isizulu). Directly translated they mean "Killa Kau is gone and he took Mpura with him, and my heart was broken, Lord please make it rain when I am performing, so that the audience do not see my tears and show me the way as this industry is not easy because those who love us also break us...you broke my heart".

A very strong and unexpected message, even by the fans as they were left in disbelieve of Lady Du's capabilities in this specific tribute.

May their souls continue resting in peace.
