Patrick Shai
Late actor Patrick Shai who earlier this week killed himself had a history of abusing his wife. His wife Masechaba told a local publication:
"Every time I heard his car park in the garage in the middle of the night I prepared myself for him. He would chase me in the middle of the night and beat me until I turned blue. He would then wake up in the morning, apologize and promise to not do it again".
Patrick later led a campaign against spousal abuse.
Chris Brown
Chris Brown famously beat his girlfriend, Rihanna in a car after she threw his phone out of the window. The two were on their way to the American Music Awards. Brown was sentenced to community service for the assault. Rihanna later revealed to Oprah that she had forgiven Chris the same way she forgave her father who abused her mother.
Sello Sebotsane
Actor Sello Sebotsane was married to actress Shoki Mmola. Sello admitted to beating his wife over many years. He allegedly punched and strangled her in two separate incidents. He accused her of denying him his conjugal rights. The two are divorced now.
Euphonik
Television personality, Bonang accused her boyfriend Euphonik of beating her on several occasions. She later opened a case of assault and got a restraining order. Euphonik denied these claims and opened a separate assault case against Euphonik.
Mampintsha
Mampintsha of Big Nuz fame beat his girlfriend, Babes Wodumo across the face on video. Mampintsha accused Babes of being emotionally abusive when drunk.
