We know her as Hlelo from South Africa's number one soapie, SABC 1's Uzalo. Nothando Ngcobo is her real name. She was born on 1 November 1994 in Hammarsdale, Mpumalanga. She subsequently relocated to Johannesburg to pursue a career in acting, where she trained at Market Theater until 2017.
Nothando Ngcobo has previously played two characters: Hlelo on Uzalo and Prudence Thabethe on One Magic's Lingashoni. Hlelo is a deeply troubled individual who emerged from a horrible childhood of domestic abuse. Gabisile (Baby Cele) rescued her and relocated her to a new life in KwaMashu. Hlelo experiences significant obstacles as she begins her new life, and her pregnancy complicates matters further.
Clearly, Nothando and Hlelo are diametrically opposed individuals. Nothando is a diligent 26-year-old who never loses up on her acting career despite numerous rejections in the industry. She was rejected by one of South Africa's most popular soap operas, SABC 1's Generations The Legacy. Ngcobo auditioned for the role of Nontle Majola, the daughter of Ayanda Majola and Tau Mogale, on Generations The Legacy, but the role was ultimately given to Buntu Petse. Fortunately, this did not discourage her; she persevered and eventually landed the role of Hlelo on Uzalo. She overcame the rejections with prayer and belief. Below, she discusses her rejection from the acting industry:
Nothando Ngcobo leads a solitary life and has an unknown boyfriend. She is a stunning woman who is attempting to make a living and enjoy life to the fullest. Below, you'll find other images of her.
