The South African music industry has been dealt a huge blow,after the sad news of a legendary jazz musician Jonas Gwangwa.Thr musician dies at the age of 83 when his death was made public on Saturday.He has been in the music industry for over four decades using his musical genius in the aid for liberation during the struggle.
He has many accolades under his belt,he was also honoured with the Order of Ikhamanga in 2010. He has created many scores for film and television along with George Fenton, he created the original score and theme for the iconic film Cry freedom and also created the Sabc 1 Generations the legacy's theme song.
President cyril ramaphosa has also expressed his Support to the family of the musician,ina statement.
"The President's thoughts and prayers are with Mr Gwangwa's family, friends, colleagues, comrades and followers around South Africa, the continent and the world," the statement reads.
