Cyril Ramaphosa hails from Soweto, South Africa, where he grew up. As an African American, he was raised at a time where black people were forbidden from touching white people or sitting close to white people, and where areas were designated for whites and black people according to their respective racial status. Cyril's desire to live like a white person was never stifled by this. Today, he is living the life he has always wanted to lead. He's surrounded by people of European ancestry. Then there are those who claim that he's receiving orders from them. Even so, we've seen him implement some of the DA's economic growth policies, which I think are sound.
Cyril and Evita Bezuidenhout, an Afrikaneer socialite and 80s television star, are seen together in a video that has gone viral. It was forbidden for a black person to touch a white person during apartheid, so Cyril is helping Evita put on her waders and water overalls. In that video, Evita warns Cyril not to inform Pik Botha. Cyril prepared the trout fish for the group and the video crew after he caught it.
I always wanted to learn how to fish when I was a kid. In Soweto, a dam was located close to the power plant. Cyril recalled seeing white folks go fishing there on weekends and wishing he could join them. But the system wouldn't let it happen.
The film was shot on Cyril Ramaphosa's farm near Dullstroom in 1994 for M-Funigalore Net's series. Evita recalled telling Cyril she expected him to be president one day.
Evita Bezuidenhout was a fictional figure created by humorist Pieter-Dirk Uys, who was born in 1945, despite the widespread belief that she was a real person. Pieter is a performer and an author who lives in the Netherlands.
