Celebrities are frequently afflicted with addictions. I mean, being in the public eye all the time must be exhausting. And, given that Boity Thulo has previously assisted others with their addictions, who will assist her with hers?
The rapper recently admitted to being a shopaholic on social media. Boity commented on an Instagram post by her 'husband,' Rich Mnisi, in which he congratulated himself on beginning to kick his shopping addiction, saying she was not ready to do it herself.
But, at the very least, she took the first step by admitting that he has a problem. She also hopes that she will be able to mentally prepare to join Rich on his road to recovery from compulsive shopping, but this is not the time for her.
Boity's addiction, on the other hand, has to be one of the better ones. We can think of worse things to be addicted to, such as alcohol and drugs. And, while hers is a lighter note, addiction is a serious illness, and we must extend grace to those who are genuinely battling it.
Boity herself has struggled with addiction. Sol Phenduka, co-host of Podcast and Chill with MacG, credited Boity with helping him overcome his addiction. He claimed that when he was struggling and hiding from his family, he reached out to Boity, who was happy to lend a hand.
This followed the saga of Boity and Bujy Bikwa, in which the radio personality allegedly attacked Boity and mercilessly beat her. Sol refused to take sides during the podcast's discussion of the incident because he considered Bujy to be like family to him, and he felt he owed Boity a lot for how she came through for him when she didn't have to.
The rapper and her boyfriend, Anton Jeftha, recently announced that they had landed a major deal. Since making their relationship Instagram official, the two have been on vacation after vacation, and it is now making business sense. One of their journeys will be aired on Insider SA on Monday, January 17th at 5:30pm. How we long for our vacations
We're not sure if Boity truly wants to overcome her shopping addiction. Would you fight for it if it was yours? Not to downplay it, but as far as addictions go, that's a pretty tasty one. Plus, she can afford it, so no one is complaining.
In any case, we wish the Queen and her 'husband' all the best in their battle against the most opulent addiction we've seen in a long time.
