TV: The Black Door Is Changing It's Narrative Starting With Nandi's Umemulo

The Black Door started airing on Etv from the 11th of April. We were promised risqué content that will be both entertaining and informative. It seems like the producers have been given a heads up about their use of too much explicit content that offered no growth in their storyline. Join us as we unpack more of the story and share the plot twist in content that you can expect in the next coming episodes.

Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that The Black Door is changing its narrative from being an explicit show to having a strong focus on family, culture and social conversations. Will the change affect its ratings and viewership? I guess we'll have to wait and see how it will pan out. As they prepare for Nandi's Umemulo - which is a traditional ceremony that is performed to celebrate that transition of their child that's transitioning from being a young woman to being an adult.

What is the show about?

It all starts when a man found out that his brother was also a prostitute. The name Black Door refers to an adult entertainment brothel that is centered around prostitution. It's often overlooked what sex workers do for survival. The main purpose of the show was to educate while showing entertaining scenes here and there for the adults.
